(Food Stamps)

Boro Park Jewish Community Council, in partnership with Met Council SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Specialists, are pleased to offer services to help the community gain efficient access to public benefits through individualized appointments and services. Our staff is available to provide assistance with new SNAP applications, SNAP recertifications, and overall case assistance.

 

For your appointment, please be sure to bring the following with you:

 

SNAP Applications:

  • Social Security Cards for all family members

  • Birth Certificate, passport, Benefit/ EBT Card or green card for all family members

  • Proof of Income - for job income - pay stubs for the last 4 weeks, letter from employer, or accountant letter for self-employed

  • Proof of Income- for unearned income- Social Security award letter, Unemployment Benefits statement or Support letter

    • Termination Letter if job loss was within the past 3 months

  • Proof of Housing Expenses- Apartment lease, Rent receipts, letter from landlord or mortgage statements

  • Proof of Residence for all family members – can be doctor’s letter (children), school letter (children) or letter from a landlord (all members)

  • Proof of Utility Expenses- Electric, Air Conditioning, Gas and/ or Water Bill (please bring all recent bills that apply to your household)

  • If Disabled or Over Age of 60 years: Proof of out-of-pocket medical costs for past 3 months.

 

SNAP Recertifications:
